Position: Accountant
Location: Constanta, Romania
Are you passionate about the maritime industry and ready to make a difference in a dynamic, fast-paced environment? We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Record all approved invoices accurately and in accordance with company internal accounting procedures.
- Verify invoices for completeness, ensuring they meet required documentation and approval standards before recording them in the system.
- Review invoices for compliance with documentation, characteristics, and authorizations prior to payment processing.
- Maintain a tracking system for approved invoices to ensure timely payments within specified deadlines.
- Create and manage vendor and debtor master files with accuracy and in line with company policies and standard accounting practices.
- Issue Accounts Receivable (AR) invoices with required details, based on approved sales orders or other authorized documents.
- Respond promptly to vendor and debtor inquiries, providing resolution and support as needed.
- Process debtor payments on time, adhering to the company's approval policies.
- Research and allocate unassigned cash payments accurately.
- Reconcile vendor and debtor statements, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Organize and maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records.
- Assist in month-end closing activities, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently.
- Support the preparation of the Annual Report and company audits.
- Collaborate with the controller in preparing monthly Disbursement Accounts (DAs) and monthly/quarterly financial reports.
- Contribute to ad hoc accounting and administrative projects or tasks as assigned.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field (Dutch HBO or equivalent preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role, with a focus on Accounts Payable (AP).
- Proficiency in ERP systems; prior experience is highly valued.
- Fluency in English (native or near-native level).
- Experience in the maritime sector is advantageous.
- Strong computer skills, with proficiency in common office software.
- Highly organized, with a strong sense of respect for colleagues and the work environment.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing tasks independently.
- A collaborative team player with a positive attitude and strong work discipline.
